How do you find stocks to analyse with a view to investing in them?
One way is to use technical indicators and another is to use fundamental indicators or one can combine them. In a recent book that I read by Samir Elias I found a number of ideas that he suggested that combines both fundamental and technical indicators.
He uses volume spikes as a basis for one of his strategies and confirms that this is not driven by any news events. Ideally what he is looking for is a stock that has seen an increase in volume and price that has not been taken notice of by the mainstream institutional investors but may have moved on insider knowledge that has yet to have been released or made available to the general public.
I certainly would recommend reading the Samir Elias book as it gives you plenty of ideas to formulate your own stock picking strategy.
